GLENCOE MOUNTAINS

The first place I want you to discover are the Glencoe Mountains in the Highlands which is a mountainous region located in northwestern Scotland. It is a very popular tourist destination because of its historical associations but also because it is a gateway to the main road north. Most of its roads are relatively easy to access from the main road. Glencoe is also known for his landscapes that have been seen in many movies, including Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban and Skyfall 2012 James Bond.

Glencoe is one of the most beautiful landscapes I have visited in Scotland. Gross and beautiful, before your eyes: rock after rock, we face the spectacular size of these mountains. If you look up you can see some beautiful little waterfall. As you continue to drive along the magnificent Glencoe Road, you will find a parking lot with an unmissable view. Traffic is quite important on this road but few cars take the time to stop as often as we do.
For lack of time we could not hike but it is possible to do it and I advise you. In half an hour you can emerge in the heart of the mountains and in the great secrets of the glens. In winter, some Glencoe Mountain are popular ski resorts as these are the closest to Glasgow. However the summits are not always snowy so it is essential to refer to the site http://www.glencoemountain.co.uk/ where you will find all the necessary information concerning the various activities possible in the Glencoe region.

After crossing the mountain road, you will arrive at the small village of Glencoe where you will find something to drink hot, eat and sleep. So we stopped at "Glencoe Inn" which is a tourist spot where we ate local "Fish and chips". It is also possible to book a room to sleep http://www.crerarhotels.com/the-glencoe-inn. An address that I recommend!
