KILT ROCK

In this article I will tell you about one of the most famous places on the North East Coast of Isle of Skye, this is the Kilt Rock Cliff and its Mealt Falls waterfall. The waterfall escapes from the cliff to reach the sea, 60 meters below. In addition to the waterfall the point of view of this site is quite impressive especially during good weather.
For the little story. The name of this cliff comes from their particular form. Indeed if you look good the photos have little see that the vertical columns of the cliff give the impression of being the folds of a Scottish kilt.
To get there from Portree you have to take the A855 direction Staffin. The destination is then 20 miles from Portree and 4 miles south of Staffin.
